Career

Early work

Dsena made his television debut with the show Kasamh Se on Zee TV, where he appeared in a supporting role. The exposure helped him secure further auditions in the Mumbai-based daily soap industry.

Breakthrough: Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani

In 2010, Dsena was cast as Abhay Raichand in Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, a youth-oriented supernatural romance produced by 4 Lions Films and aired on Star One. The show, loosely inspired by vampire-romance fiction, became a cult favourite among young viewers and established Dsena as a recognisable face on Indian television.

Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon

From 2012, Dsena played the male lead, film star Rishabh "RK" Kundra, opposite Drashti Dhami in Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors TV. The show, set against the backdrop of the Hindi film industry, ran for several seasons and was among the more widely watched primetime soaps of its period.

Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki

In 2016, Dsena was cast as Harman Singh in Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, a Colors TV serial that addressed themes around the transgender community and social acceptance in a Punjabi family setting. The show ran for several years and earned Dsena sustained public recognition.

Later work

Dsena has subsequently appeared in television projects and reality formats, continuing to work primarily within Hindi general entertainment channels.

Style and reception

Dsena is generally associated with brooding, intense male leads in romantic and family dramas. His on-screen pairings, particularly with Drashti Dhami in Madhubala and Rubina Dilaik in Shakti, received considerable attention from television audiences and entertainment press.

Awards and recognition

Dsena has been nominated for and received recognition at several Indian television awards, including ceremonies organised by industry magazines and channels, in categories such as Best Actor and Most Popular Actor for his work in Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.

Personal life

Dsena maintains a relatively private personal life away from his on-screen work and is known to follow Islam.

Significance

Within the Indian television landscape, Dsena is considered representative of a generation of male leads who became stars through long-running daily soaps on general entertainment channels in the 2010s, rather than through cinema. His work in Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki is also notable for engaging mainstream prime-time audiences with themes of gender identity.
