Rubina Dilaik was born on 27 August 1987 in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. She was raised in Shimla and completed her schooling there before pursuing higher education at St. Bede's College, an institution affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University. She was a participant in pageants during her college years, an experience that introduced her to the entertainment industry.
Career
Early television work
Dilaik made her television debut in 2008 with Zee TV's Choti Bahu — Sindoor Bin Suhaagan, where she played the lead role of Radhika. The serial, produced by Sphere Origins, ran for two seasons and was one of the popular family dramas of its time. She later appeared in Saas Bina Sasural on Sony Entertainment Television and in Punar Vivah — Ek Nayi Umeed on Zee TV.
Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki
From 2016 to 2021, Dilaik played Soumya Singh in Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, a Colors TV serial produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms. The show focused on issues faced by the transgender community in India and was among the first mainstream Indian television dramas to centre such themes. The role brought her wide recognition and several industry awards.
Bigg Boss 14
Dilaik entered the fourteenth season of Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, as a contestant in October 2020. She remained in the house for the entire season and emerged as the winner of the season's finale on 21 February 2021.

Rubina Dilaik married actor Abhinav Shukla on 21 June 2018 in a ceremony held in Shimla. The couple have appeared together on several reality television shows, including Bigg Boss 14. In November 2023, the couple announced the birth of twin daughters.
