Roshan Basheer (born 28 June 1991) is an Indian film actor who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema, with appearances in Telugu and Tamil language films as well. He is best known for playing Varun Prabhakar, a pivotal antagonist, in the 2013 Malayalam drama-thriller Drishyam.

Background

Roshan Basheer hails from Kuttiady, a town in the Kozhikode district of Kerala. He was born into a family with a film background; his father, Kalanthan Basheer, is an actor as well as a short film director and producer, an environment that placed Roshan in close contact with the craft of cinema from an early age.

Career

Basheer entered Malayalam cinema as a young actor and gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Varun Prabhakar in Drishyam (2013), directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal.
