Overview

Noida Film City is a complex of film and television studios located in Sector 16A of Noida, in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Developed as a dedicated zone for media and entertainment industries, it houses production studios, broadcast facilities, post-production units, and the corporate offices of several major Indian news and entertainment television networks. It is one of the principal media hubs in the National Capital Region (NCR), complementary to the production ecosystems based in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

Background

Noida, established in 1976 as the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority township, was planned as a satellite city of Delhi with allocations for industrial, residential, and institutional sectors. As private satellite television expanded in India during the 1990s, Sector 16A was designated as a media and broadcasting cluster, given its proximity to Delhi and the relatively lower real estate and operational costs compared with central Delhi. Over time the sector came to be referred to colloquially as "Film City", echoing similar industry clusters such as Mumbai's Film City in Goregaon and Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City.

Facilities and tenants

The complex contains shooting floors, news studios, outside broadcast (OB) infrastructure, dubbing and editing suites, and office space leased to broadcasters and production houses. A number of national news networks and entertainment channels operate their headquarters or main studios from Noida Film City. The cluster also supports ancillary businesses including talent agencies, equipment rentals, casting offices, advertising production firms, and digital media start-ups.

Connectivity

The complex is served by road links from the Delhi–Noida Direct (DND) Flyway and the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway. The Noida Sector 16 station of the Delhi Metro Blue Line provides the closest rail-based public transport access. Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi is the nearest major airport.
