Geography and administration
Nithari falls within the administrative jurisdiction of the North West district of Delhi, one of the eleven revenue districts of the National Capital Territory. Like several other settlements in the area, it carries the historical character of a village that has been absorbed into the expanding urban fabric of Delhi, a process common to many lal dora villages of the capital.
The locality is served by the road network of north-western Delhi and lies within the area covered by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for civic services such as water supply, sanitation and local roads.
Civic context
As an urban village, Nithari typically combines older village-style housing with newer residential and commercial construction. Such neighbourhoods in Delhi commonly host small-scale businesses, rental housing for migrant workers, and local markets that serve adjoining planned colonies.
