Michael Gordon Bracewell (born 14 February 1991) is a New Zealand cricketer who represents Wellington in domestic cricket and the New Zealand national side in international cricket. A left-handed batter and right-arm off-spin bowler, he made his international debut in March 2022 and belongs to one of New Zealand cricket's most prominent families.

Background

Bracewell was born on 14 February 1991. He attended Kavanagh College, a secondary school in Dunedin, on New Zealand's South Island. He comes from a well-known cricketing family: his uncles Brendon Bracewell and John Bracewell are both former New Zealand Test cricketers, and his cousin Doug Bracewell has also represented New Zealand at international level. He is additionally a cousin of the comedian Melanie Bracewell.

Career

Bracewell plays domestic cricket for Wellington in New Zealand's first-class and limited-overs competitions. After several seasons in the domestic game, he was selected for the New Zealand national team and made his international debut in March 2022.
