Career

Shivpuri came to wider attention with her role in Sooraj Barjatya's Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), one of the highest-earning Hindi films of the decade. She followed this with appearances in a string of popular productions during the mid- and late-1990s, including Raja (1995), Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Khamoshi (1996), Hero No. 1 (1997), Deewana Mastana (1997), Bandhan (1998) and Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).

She continued to feature in several major family-oriented films at the close of the 1990s and during the early 2000s, including Biwi No.1 (1999), Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003).

Television

On television, Shivpuri plays Katori "Katto" Amma in the &TV sitcom Happu Ki Ultan Paltan.
