Ashton James Turner (born 25 January 1993) is an Australian cricketer who plays for Western Australia in domestic first-class and limited-overs cricket, and for the Perth Scorchers in Twenty20 competition. A right-handed batsman and right-arm off spinner, he is from Perth, Western Australia.

Background
Turner is from Perth and progressed through the junior ranks of Western Australian cricket. He represented the state at under-15 (schoolboys), under-17 and under-19 levels, and captained the Western Australia under-17 side to victory in the National Championships.
Career
Junior and youth cricket
In September and October 2011, Turner toured India with the Australian under-19 team, taking part in a quadrangular tournament that also featured the under-19 sides of India, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. He took eight wickets from six matches during the tour.
At the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Turner was selected as Australia's first-choice spinner ahead of Victoria's Ashton Agar, who was unavailable due to injury and did not play in the tournament. Turner finished the World Cup with eleven wickets from six matches, with his best figures of 4/28 coming against Nepal.
Senior cricket
Turner made his senior debut for Western Australia during the 2012–13 season. He is also contracted to the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.
Significance
Turner emerged as one of Western Australia's notable young all-round cricketers of the early 2010s, with his selection ahead of Ashton Agar at the 2012 Under-19 World Cup marking him as a leading spin-bowling prospect of his age group within Australian cricket.
