Background

Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti had collaborated as writers and filmmakers prior to formalising the banner, including on screenplays such as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) and Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), both directed by Akhtar, and Talaash: The Answer Lies Within (2012), directed by Kagti. Tiger Baby was set up to give their joint creative work a dedicated production home, while continuing to co-produce with Excel Entertainment, the company run by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
