Super Dancer is an Indian dance reality television show broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television. The show is a platform for child dancers, typically between the ages of 4 and 15, who compete with the assistance of adult choreographers known as "Super Gurus". It is produced by Frames Production Company, the production house of filmmaker Ranjeet Thakur and Hemant Ruprell.
Super Dancer was launched in 2016 as a competitive dance format aimed exclusively at children. Each contestant is paired with a Super Guru, an adult choreographer who designs and performs alongside the child contestant in themed weekly acts. Performances are evaluated by a panel of judges drawn from the Hindi film and dance industries, and contestants are progressively eliminated until a winner is declared.

The show distinguishes itself from other Indian dance competitions through its mentor-pairing structure. After auditions held across multiple Indian cities, selected contestants are matched with Super Gurus, who function as both choreographers and performance partners. Episodes typically follow weekly themes, with judges awarding scores and the audience contributing through voting in later stages. Eliminations are based on cumulative scores, with the lowest-ranked contestants exiting the competition.
Across its seasons, the show has featured judges associated with Hindi cinema and the Indian dance world, including choreographer Geeta Kapur, filmmaker Anurag Basu, and actress Shilpa Shetty. Hosting duties have been handled by personalities such as Rithvik Dhanjani and Paritosh Tripathi, with comedians often appearing in supporting on-screen roles.
The Indian television landscape has long featured dance-based reality formats, including Dance India Dance and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Sony Entertainment Television's earlier success with Boogie Woogie, one of the country's first dance reality shows, established an audience for the genre. Super Dancer was conceived to address a more specific niche: a competition exclusively for pre-teen and early teen dancers, with adult mentors providing professional support rather than competing themselves.
The show has aired across multiple seasons, each typically running for several months and concluding with a grand finale episode. Each season has produced a winner who receives a cash prize and a trophy, along with the title of "Super Dancer". Winning contestants and their Super Gurus have frequently gone on to feature in film choreography assignments and stage performances.
Super Dancer has been credited with bringing attention to child performers from smaller towns and non-metropolitan regions of India, several of whom have gone on to perform in Hindi films and stage productions. The show has been recognised at Indian television awards, including nominations and wins at the Indian Television Academy Awards and similar industry honours. Its mentor-paired format has been noted as an innovation in the Indian dance reality genre.
