The School of Management functions as one of the academic units of NIT Rourkela. It offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme as its flagship postgraduate degree, and admits doctoral candidates pursuing PhD research in areas spanning organisational behaviour, finance, marketing, operations, human resource management, information systems and economics. NIT Rourkela was established in 1961 as the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela, and was upgraded to a National Institute of Technology in 2002.
