Banerjee began collaborating with producer Ekta Kapoor's banner, taking up brief supporting parts in several of its shows, including Chandrakanta, Chandra Nandini and Dil Hi Toh Hai. These appearances helped her build visibility on the small screen.
She subsequently rose to wider recognition with two of Kapoor's long-running serials. In Kasautii Zindagii Kay, she portrayed Nivedita Basu, while in Kumkum Bhagya she played Rhea Mehra. Both shows contributed significantly to her becoming a familiar face in Indian household television.
