The college is situated on the main Osmania University campus in the eastern part of Hyderabad. Over the decades it has grown to offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across multiple branches of engineering, including civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication, computer science, and chemical engineering.
The college conducts Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Master of Engineering (M.E.) and doctoral (Ph.D.) programmes. Departments are organised by discipline, with research activity covering areas such as structural engineering, water resources, power systems, communications, and computing. Admission to undergraduate programmes is conducted through state-level entrance examinations, while postgraduate admissions are based on national tests including GATE.
As one of the older engineering institutions in southern India, the college has played an important role in producing engineers, academics, and administrators in the Telugu-speaking states and beyond. It is considered a flagship technical college within the Osmania University system and contributes to the university's standing in higher education in India.
