Munmun Dutta is an Indian actress and model best known for her long-running role as Babita Iyer in the Hindi-language television sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which airs on Sony SAB. She has worked in Hindi television since the mid-2000s and has also appeared in a small number of films across Hindi, Tamil and Bengali cinema.

Munmun Dutta was born in Durgapur, an industrial town in the Paschim Bardhaman district of West Bengal, into a Bengali family. She spent parts of her early life in different cities owing to her father's work, including stays in Maharashtra. She completed her schooling and higher education before moving into modelling and acting, and has spoken in interviews about her training in classical dance.
Dutta began her career in the early 2000s with modelling assignments and beauty pageants, which led to opportunities in television and films. Her early on-screen work included appearances in Hindi serials and small roles in films across multiple Indian film industries.
Her film appearances include the Hindi production Holiday (2006) and the Tamil film Mudhal Kanave (2007). She has also taken up occasional projects in Bengali cinema. Films have, however, formed only a small portion of her overall body of work, with television remaining her primary medium.
