MATS University, formally known as Mahaveer Academy of Technology and Science University, is a state private university located in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, India. The university began operations in 2006 and offers programmes across multiple academic disciplines.

MATS University was established by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) Act. It is recognised under Section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, which permits it to confer degrees recognised by the UGC.
The university has received approvals from a range of regulatory and statutory bodies in India, including the Bar Council of India (BCI), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
As one of the private universities established in Chhattisgarh following the enactment of the state's private universities legislation, MATS University contributes to higher education in central India.
