As a lower-middle-order batter who can roll his arm over with off-spin, he has been used as a flexible all-format option by Delhi's selectors, contributing in both the longer format and white-ball domestic competitions.
Yadav has been part of the Delhi Capitals squad in the IPL, where he has been deployed as a finisher in the middle order who can also provide overs of off-spin in the powerplay or middle phase. His role with the franchise has typically been that of a utility all-rounder, supporting the senior batters and bowlers in the side.
Yadav is regarded as a clean striker of the ball with the ability to clear the infield late in an innings. His off-spin is used primarily as a containing option, often against left-handed batters or in the early overs of a Twenty20 innings.
