Kiara Advani is an Indian actress who works primarily in Hindi cinema, with additional appearances in Telugu films. She made her acting debut in 2014 and rose to wider recognition in the late 2010s through a series of commercially successful films. Kiara Advani was born in Mumbai into a Sindhi-Punjabi family. Her father, Jagdeep Advani, is a businessman, and her mother, Genevieve Advani, is a teacher. She is related to actor Ashok Kumar through her maternal family. She completed her schooling at Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and studied mass communication at Jai Hind College, affiliated with the University of Mumbai. She later trained in acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
The screen name "Kiara" was reportedly suggested by actor Salman Khan before her debut.
Advani made her film debut with Kabir Sadanand's Fugly (2014). She gained significant attention with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), directed by Neeraj Pandey, in which she played Sakshi Dhoni opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. The film was a major commercial success.
She made her Telugu cinema debut with Bharat Ane Nenu (2018), directed by Koratala Siva, opposite Mahesh Babu. In 2019, she appeared in Karan Johar's segment of the anthology Lust Stories on Netflix, and in Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, opposite Shahid Kapoor; the latter was among the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. The same year she appeared in Good Newwz alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
Advani featured in Shershaah (2021), a biographical war film on Captain Vikram Batra, opposite Sidharth Malhotra. She subsequently appeared in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) with Kartik Aaryan, Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022) with Varun Dhawan, and Govinda Naam Mera (2022). In 2023, she starred in Satyaprem Ki Katha opposite Kartik Aaryan, and in S. Shankar's Tamil-Hindi-Telugu trilingual Game Changer (2025) opposite Ram Charan.
Kiara Advani married actor Sidharth Malhotra on 7 February 2023 at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The couple had earlier worked together in Shershaah.
Advani is regarded as one of the prominent leading actresses of contemporary Hindi cinema. She has been associated with several commercially successful films across genres, and has worked in both Hindi and Telugu industries. She has also appeared on Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list and endorses a number of consumer brands in India.
