Bhojipura is one of several small junction stations in the Bareilly area that historically formed part of the metre gauge network of north-western India before successive gauge conversion programmes brought broad gauge connectivity to the region. The station handles passenger traffic catering largely to local commuters and travellers moving between Bareilly city and stations to the north and east.
The station lies a short distance north of Bareilly Junction, in the agriculturally productive plains of western Uttar Pradesh. The surrounding tract is dominated by sugarcane and wheat cultivation, and the rail corridor through Bhojipura provides a link between the urban hub of Bareilly and the smaller towns leading towards the Tarai belt at the foot of the Kumaon Himalaya.
As a junction, Bhojipura provides interchange between rail routes radiating from Bareilly. It supports regional passenger movement and helps connect interior settlements of Bareilly district to the wider Indian Railways network.
