Arvind Trivedi was an Indian actor known primarily for his work in Hindi and Gujarati cinema and television. He achieved widespread recognition for his portrayal of the demon king Ravana in the television serial Ramayan, directed by Ramanand Sagar, which became one of the most-watched programmes in the history of Indian television.

Arvind Trivedi worked extensively in Gujarati cinema before becoming a household name through television. Over the course of his career he appeared in a large number of Gujarati films, contributing to the regional film industry in a variety of character roles.
Trivedi's most celebrated role came with Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, the televised adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana, broadcast on Doordarshan in the late 1980s. His depiction of Ravana, the ruler of Lanka, was widely praised for combining menace with theatrical grandeur, and remains the role most strongly associated with him in popular memory.
In addition to his television work, Trivedi was active in Gujarati-language cinema and also appeared in Hindi films, typically in supporting and character roles.
The success of Ramayan on Doordarshan turned its principal cast into culturally significant figures across India.
