Arumbakkam is an elevated metro station on the Blue Line of the Chennai Metro, serving the neighbourhood of Arumbakkam in the western part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is part of the corridor connecting Wimco Nagar Depot in the north to Chennai International Airport in the south, and forms one of the stations along the stretch passing through Anna Nagar and Koyambedu.

The station is situated along Poonamallee High Road (NH 4 / Jawaharlal Nehru Road corridor), close to the residential and commercial neighbourhood of Arumbakkam. It lies between Koyambedu and Vadapalani on the Blue Line, providing access to surrounding localities including Aminjikarai and parts of Anna Nagar South.
Chennai Metro is a rapid transit system operated by Chennai Metro Rail Limited, a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. Phase I of the project comprised two corridors covering approximately 45 km, with civil works carried out under multiple international and Indian contractors. Arumbakkam was developed as part of the elevated section running along Poonamallee High Road.
As an elevated station, Arumbakkam features a typical three-level layout: a street-level entrance, a concourse with ticketing and security, and platforms above. Standard amenities include automatic fare collection gates, token and smart card services, escalators, lifts for accessibility, and CCTV surveillance. Trains operate with platform screen doors at the boarding edge.
The station is integrated with road-based public transport, with bus services from the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) running along Poonamallee High Road. The nearby Koyambedu interchange offers access to the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), one of the largest bus terminals in Asia.
Arumbakkam metro station improves last-mile connectivity for residential pockets in western Chennai and links them to major employment, transport and commercial hubs along the Blue Line, including Koyambedu, Anna Nagar, Nandanam, Guindy, Alandur and the Chennai International Airport.
