The headquarters were relocated to Guntur district following bifurcation, with the main administrative campus at Lam.
The university operates a network of constituent and affiliated colleges offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in agriculture and allied disciplines. Academic offerings typically include:
ANGRAU coordinates a state-wide system of research stations and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) covering the diverse agro-climatic zones of Andhra Pradesh. Its research focuses on crop improvement, seed production, dryland farming, integrated pest management, and post-harvest technology. Extension activities include farmer training, advisory services, technology demonstrations, and the release of improved cultivars of rice, pulses, oilseeds, and millets adapted to local conditions.
As Andhra Pradesh's flagship agricultural university, ANGRAU plays a central role in supporting the state's farm sector, which remains a major component of its economy. The institution contributes to public-sector seed supply, agricultural human resource development, and the dissemination of scientific practices to the farming community.
