Overview

Yusuf Khan (born Yusuff Abousher; 1 May 1940 – 1985) was an Egyptian-born actor based in India who worked in Hindi-language films. He moved to Bombay and entered the Hindi film industry in the late 1960s, going on to appear in around 35 films through the 1970s and 1980s.

Khan was often cast in antagonist roles, frequently playing what was described as a sympathetic villain. He featured in several notable productions of the era, including Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978) and Disco Dancer (1982). He is best remembered for his role as Zebisko, the bodyguard to Parveen Babi's character, in Manmohan Desai's Amar Akbar Anthony (1977).

Khan died in Hyderabad in 1985 following a brain haemorrhage. He was the father of the Hindi film and television actor Faraaz Khan.
