Overview
Yenepoya University is a private deemed-to-be university located in Deralakatte, Mangaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka. It was granted deemed university status in 2008 by the University Grants Commission (UGC), bringing together several pre-existing institutions under a unified academic framework. The oldest of these constituent institutions is Yenepoya Dental College, established in 1992.
The university offers academic programmes across a wide range of disciplines through its constituent colleges. These include Medicine, Dentistry, Allied Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Naturopathy, alongside programmes in Engineering, and in Arts, Science, Commerce and Management.
Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) has been recognised by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, under Section 3(A) of the UGC Act, 1956. The institution has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an "A+" grade. Farhaad Yenepoya serves as the Pro-Chancellor of the Yenepoya Group of Institutions.
