Overview
The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) is a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is dedicated to higher education and research in the fields of veterinary and animal sciences, dairy sciences, and fishery sciences.
The university was established on 2 January 1995 through an Act of the West Bengal legislature. Its creation brought together teaching, research, and extension activities related to animal and fishery sciences under a single specialised institution in the state.
