Overview

Varun Chakravarthy Vinod (born 29 August 1991) is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the India national team as a right-arm leg spin bowler. He is known for his variations and mystery spin, and has established himself in the limited-overs formats.

In domestic cricket, Varun represents Tamil Nadu. In franchise cricket, he plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League and turns out for the Dindigul Dragons in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Varun has been part of Indian sides that achieved notable success in international tournaments, including the 2026 T20 World Cup, the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2025 Asia Cup. In December 2025, he became the highest-rated Indian bowler in the ICC rankings for Twenty20 Internationals, reaching 818 rating points.
