Uka Tarsadia University (UTU) is a state private university located at Bardoli in the Surat district of Gujarat, India. Background

The university is run under the aegis of the Tarsadia Group of educational trusts, which had earlier established several institutions on the Maliba Campus, including the Maliba Pharmacy College, the Chhotubhai Gopalbhai Patel Institute of Technology (CGPIT) and other professional colleges. These institutions were brought together under a single university umbrella following the enactment of the Gujarat Private Universities Act, which permitted the creation of self-financed private universities in the state.

The university is named in memory of Uka Tarsadia, in line with the philanthropic tradition of the sponsoring trust, which has long been active in supporting education in the Bardoli–Surat region of south Gujarat.
