Overview

Thomas James Prest (born 24 March 2003) is an English cricketer who plays for Hampshire across formats. He emerged through the county's age-group and Second XI ranks before progressing to senior cricket during the 2021 season.

Prest made his Twenty20 debut on 25 June 2021, turning out for Hampshire in the 2021 T20 Blast. Earlier in May 2021, he had drawn attention by scoring a triple century for the Second XI team. He made his first-class debut on 6 July 2021 in the 2021 County Championship, coming in as a replacement player for James Vince. His List A debut followed shortly after, on 22 July 2021, in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup.

In December 2021, Prest was named captain of the England side for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, held in the West Indies. He led the team in the tournament before returning to county duties for Hampshire.

In August 2022, Prest produced a notable List A performance, scoring 181 from 138 balls against Kent in the 2022 Royal London One-Day Cup, underlining his potential as a top-order batter in the limited-overs format.
