Robert Timothy Robinson (born 21 November 1958) is an English cricket umpire and former cricketer. A right-handed batsman, he represented England in 29 Test matches and 26 One Day Internationals between 1984 and 1989.
Born in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, Robinson was educated at High Pavement Grammar School in Nottingham. He spent his entire first-class career with Nottinghamshire, playing for the county from 1978 to 1999. He received his first team cap in 1983 and went on to lead the side as club captain between 1988 and 1995.
Robinson was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1986, recognising his form during the preceding English season. He was also part of the England squad that finished as runners-up at the 1987 Cricket World Cup. Following his playing career, he took up duties as a cricket umpire.
