Overview
Tazmin Brits (born 8 January 1991) is a South African cricketer and former javelin thrower. Before transitioning to cricket, she had a notable career in athletics, representing South Africa at junior international level in the javelin throw.
In athletics, Brits won the gold medal in the javelin throw at the 2007 World Youth Athletics Championships. She followed this with another gold in the same event at the 2009 African Junior Athletics Championships. She was in line to be selected for the 2012 London Olympics, but was involved in a road accident which left her hospitalised for two months, disrupting her athletics career.
Brits subsequently took up cricket and made her international debut for the South Africa women's cricket team in May 2018.
