Tanaji Sawant

Overview

Tanaji Jaywant Sawant is an Indian businessman and politician associated with the Shiv Sena. He hails from the Solapur district of Maharashtra and has served as a deputy leader of the party.

Sawant is a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, representing the Paranda Vidhan Sabha constituency, which covers the Bhoom, Paranda and Washi areas. Earlier in his political career, he was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council, securing 348 votes in that election.

He came into public prominence through his work on water conservation in the Dharashiv district in May 2016, undertaken as part of the Shiv Sena's "Shiv Jal Kranti" initiative. The project focused on water management activities in the region.

Apart from his political work, Sawant has been engaged in business activities. He has also held ministerial responsibilities, including service as Maharashtra's Minister of Public Health.
