Tamannaah Bhatia (born 21 December 1989), often credited mononymously as Tamannaah, is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi cinema. Active since 2005, she is among the leading female stars of South Indian cinema and has appeared in films across multiple languages including Malayalam and Kannada.

Background
Tamannaah was born into a Punjabi Hindu family in Mumbai to Santosh and Rajani Bhatia. She has an elder brother, Anand. She studied at Maneckji Cooper School in Juhu and later pursued higher education while balancing her acting commitments.
Career
Early career (2005–2009)
Tamannaah began her career as a teenager, appearing in the Hindi film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra (2005) and the Telugu film Sri the same year. Her Tamil debut came with Kedi (2006). She gained early recognition in Telugu cinema with Happy Days (2007), directed by Sekhar Kammula, and in Tamil cinema with Kalloori (2007), directed by Balaji Sakthivel.
Rise to prominence (2010–2014)
Tamannaah established herself as a leading actress with films such as Paiyaa (2010) opposite Karthi, Siruthai (2011) opposite Karthi, and the Telugu blockbuster 100% Love (2011) opposite Naga Chaitanya. She also starred in Veeram (2014) and Kaththi Sandai, and made her Hindi mainstream debut as a lead with Himmatwala (2013), a remake directed by Sajid Khan.
Baahubali and pan-Indian recognition (2015–2019)
Tamannaah played Avanthika in S. S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). The films, produced by Arka Media Works, became among the highest-grossing Indian films of their time and brought her wider national and international recognition. During this period she also appeared in films such as Bengal Tiger (2015), Devi / Abhinetri (2016) and Queen (Tamil remake, 2019, as a web series titled Queen directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Neelakanta).
Recent work (2020–present)
Tamannaah has expanded into Hindi web content, appearing in series such as November Story (2021), Jee Karda (2023) and Aakhri Sach (2023). Her film appearances in this period include F3 (2022), Babli Bouncer (2022), Bhola Shankar (2023), Jailer (2023) opposite Rajinikanth, and item appearances such as the song "Kaavaalaa" in Jailer, which became a viral hit.
