Overview
Suzannah Wilson Bates, born on 16 September 1987 in Dunedin, is a New Zealand cricketer and a former captain of the national women's cricket team. She represents the White Ferns at international level and plays domestic cricket for the Otago Sparks.
Bates is regarded as one of the leading batters in New Zealand women's cricket. She holds the highest individual score and the highest batting average for the New Zealand women's Twenty20 international side.
In recognition of her performances, Bates was named the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year in 2013. She received further honours in 2016, when she was named both the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year and the ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of the Year.
