Overview

Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU) is a private university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It was established through the Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur Act (Act No. 16 of 2008) enacted by the Government of Rajasthan, granting the institution the status of a self-financed private university in the state.

The university traces its origins to Gyan Vihar College, Jaipur, which had been functioning since 1999 as the immediate predecessor institution. The wider lineage of the university extends back to its parent body, the Sahitya Sadawart Samiti, a society founded in 1938, under whose aegis the educational activities have been organised over the decades.

SGVU offers higher education across a range of disciplines and is part of the cluster of private universities established in Rajasthan following the state's enabling legislation for such institutions. Among its faculty members is Dr. Krishna Kumar (IISc), who serves as an associate professor at the university.
