Overview

Sukumari (6 October 1940 – 26 March 2013) was an Indian actress who worked predominantly in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. In a career that spanned more than five decades, she appeared in over 2,500 films across multiple languages, becoming one of the most prolific character actresses of South Indian cinema. She was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2003 and the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2010.
