Overview

Sudhir Sachchidanand Mungantiwar (born 30 July 1962) is an Indian politician and legislator from the state of Maharashtra. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he has served multiple terms in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and has held several ministerial portfolios in the state government.

Mungantiwar served as the Minister of Tourism and Consumer Protection in the Government of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999. He later held the Cabinet portfolios of Finance & Planning and Forests in the state government. Between 2022 and 2024, he served as the Cabinet Minister for Forests, Cultural Affairs and Fisheries in the Maharashtra Government. He has also held the additional charge of Guardian Minister of Chandrapur and Wardha districts.

Within his party, Mungantiwar served as the Maharashtra State President of the BJP from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, he was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for a fifth consecutive term. In March 2024, the BJP announced him as its candidate for the Chandrapur constituency in the 2024 Indian general elections.
