Overview
Siddharth University, Kapilvastu (informally abbreviated as SU or SUK), also referred to as the University of Siddharth Nagar, is a state university located at Kapilvastu in the Siddharth Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India.
The university was established on 17 June 2015. It was set up to serve the higher education needs of the region, and on its formation, a number of colleges that were previously affiliated to other state universities were brought under its jurisdiction.
The colleges now affiliated to Siddharth University were formerly associated with Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University. With the creation of the new university, these institutions came under a single regional affiliating body based at Kapilvastu.
