Overview
Shrikant Eknath Shinde (born 4 February 1987) is an Indian politician and a member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India. He represents the Kalyan constituency in Maharashtra and is affiliated with the Shiv Sena.
Shinde is the son of Eknath Shinde, who serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. At the time of his electoral victory in 2014, he was a final-year Master's student of orthopaedics, having pursued a medical education before entering full-time public life.
As the elected representative from Kalyan, he is associated with parliamentary work pertaining to his constituency in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. His political career has been closely linked with the Shiv Sena's organisational presence in the Thane–Kalyan region of Maharashtra.
