Shoaib Akhtar (born 13 August 1975) is a Pakistani former international cricketer and cricket commentator. A right-arm fast bowler, he is widely referred to by the nickname "Rawalpindi Express" and is regarded as the fastest bowler in the history of cricket.

Background

International career

Shoaib Akhtar made his Test match debut for Pakistan in November 1997, taking up duties as an opening fast bowler. He played his first One Day International (ODI) three months later, in early 1998. Over his career he became known as the fastest bowler in cricketing history.
