Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, commonly known as SASTRA, is a private deemed university located in Thirumalaisamudram, in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India. The institution serves as a centre for higher education and research, drawing students from across the country.

SASTRA was conferred Deemed University status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2001. This recognition enabled the institution to design its own curricula and broaden its academic offerings beyond its earlier scope.
