Overview
Shakti Prasad Gauchan (Nepali: शक्ति प्रसाद गौचन; born 22 April 1984) is a Nepalese former professional cricketer. An all-rounder, he is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spinner, and is widely regarded as one of the leading left-arm orthodox bowlers in Nepalese cricket history, drawing particular attention during the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier campaigns leading into 2014.
Gauchan announced himself in international cricket with an unbeaten 106 off 103 balls against Italy during the ICC World Cup Qualifying Series in February 2005, becoming only the second Nepalese cricketer to score an international century. He was among the eleven cricketers who featured in Nepal's first ever One Day International, played against the Netherlands in August 2018.
At the domestic level, Gauchan captained the Jagdamba Giants in the Nepal Premier League. He also turned out for the APF Club in the National League and represented New Horizon College in the SPA Cup. After his playing career, he moved into coaching, taking charge as head coach of Bhairahawa Queens, a franchise team in the NCL women's league, in March 2019.
