Overview

Sarah Jane Taylor (born 20 May 1989) is an English former cricketer and cricket coach. A wicket-keeper-batter, she represented England across formats between 2006 and 2019, when she retired from international cricket owing to an anxiety issue.

Taylor played 10 Test matches, 126 One Day Internationals and 90 Twenty20 Internationals for England. She is the fastest cricketer, male or female, to earn a first cap in all three formats of international cricket, achieving the feat within nine days during a series against India in 2006.

Known for her free-flowing stroke play, Taylor opened the batting in limited-overs cricket and generally batted in the middle order in Test matches. Her wicket-keeping was widely regarded as a key feature of her game across formats.

At domestic level, Taylor turned out for a number of sides in England and overseas, including Sussex, Lancashire Thunder, Surrey Stars, Northern Diamonds and Welsh Fire. She also played for Wellington in New Zealand, and for South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers in Australia. After retiring from playing internationally, she moved into coaching roles within the game.
