Overview

Sanjay Baburao Bansode (born 31 December 1973) is an Indian politician from Maharashtra and a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He represents the Udgir-Jalkot constituency in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and hails from Latur district.

Bansode entered the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly after winning the 2019 state election, in which he defeated Dr. Anil Kamble of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the Uddhav Thackeray-led government, he served as a Minister of State from 30 December 2019 to 29 June 2022.

On 14 July 2023, Bansode was inducted into the Maharashtra cabinet, holding the portfolios of Sports, Youth Welfare, and Ports. Earlier in his public life, he was a participant in the Namantar movement.
