Wedagedara Sadeera Rashen Samarawickrama (Sinhala: වෙදගෙදර සදීර රෂේන් සමරවික්‍රම; born 30 August 1995), popularly known as Sadeera Samarawickrama, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who represents the national team in all formats of the game.

Background and education

Samarawickrama is a past pupil of Thurstan College and St. Joseph's College, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Both institutions have a long-standing tradition of producing cricketers for the national set-up.

Career

Samarawickrama was part of Sri Lanka's squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, marking his entry into representative cricket at the youth level. He went on to represent the senior Sri Lankan national side across all three international formats of the game.

Significance

As an all-format international, Samarawickrama is among the cricketers from Sri Lanka's post-2014 generation who progressed from age-group cricket to senior international honours, contributing to the country's batting line-up.
