Sachin Ramniklal Bhudia (born 24 September 1998) is a Kenyan cricketer who has captained the Kenya national cricket team in international fixtures. A right-handed top-order batter, he led Kenya at the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and later succeeded Shem Ngoche as the senior team's captain in 2022.

Background

Bhudia emerged through Kenya's youth cricket structure and was identified as a leadership prospect at age-group level. In December 2017, he was named captain of the Kenyan side for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, leading the team in the global junior tournament.

Career

Associate-level cricket

In October 2018, Bhudia was named in Kenya's squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament held in Oman. He featured in Kenya's opening fixture of the tournament against the host nation on 9 November 2018.

International debut

In May 2019, he was selected in Kenya's squad for the Regional Finals of the 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier tournament in Uganda. He made his Twenty20 International debut for Kenya against Uganda on 22 May 2019.

In September 2019, Bhudia was named in Kenya's squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in the United Arab Emirates. In November 2019, he was part of the Kenyan team for the Cricket World Cup Challenge League B tournament in Oman, and made his List A debut during this period, against Jersey on 9 December 2019.

Captaincy of senior side

In November 2022, Bhudia replaced Shem Ngoche as the captain of Kenya. He was subsequently named captain of the Kenyan team for the Africa Regional qualifier for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
