Richa Chadha (born 18 December 1986) is an Indian actress who works primarily in Hindi cinema. She made her screen debut with a small role in the comedy Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008), and gained wider recognition through her performance in the crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). Over the following decade, she built a body of work spanning independent dramas, mainstream comedies, courtroom films, and streaming series.

Chadha began her film career in Hindi cinema in the late 2000s with a minor role in Dibakar Banerjee's caper comedy Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!. The role attracted limited attention at the time, but established her presence in the industry ahead of her later work in independent films.

Her breakthrough came in 2012 with Anurag Kashyap's two-part crime saga Gangs of Wasseypur, where she portrayed the foul-tongued wife of a gangster. The performance brought her critical acclaim and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.

Subsequent films

Chadha followed this with a supporting role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and the comedy Fukrey (2013), which became her biggest commercial success. She reprised her role in the sequels released in 2017 and 2023. In 2015, she played the lead in Neeraj Ghaywan's drama Masaan, which received significant critical attention. She later appeared in the courtroom drama Section 375 (2019).
