Overview
Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University is a central agricultural university located in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh. It was established by the Government of India to impart education, undertake research and provide extension services in the field of agriculture and allied sciences, with a particular focus on the Bundelkhand region.
The university was set up through the Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University Act, 2014, which was passed by Parliament in 2014. It is named after Rani Lakshmi Bai, the queen of Jhansi, whose historical association with the region is reflected in the institution's identity.
The first academic session of the university commenced in July 2014. The university follows a semester system, with two semesters being conducted every academic year.
