Significance
Praggnanandhaa's rise has been seen as part of a broader generational surge in Indian chess that includes players such as D. Gukesh, Nihal Sarin, Arjun Erigaisi and his sister R. Vaishali. His performances against the world's top players, particularly Magnus Carlsen, have drawn significant attention to Indian chess and contributed to India's emergence as a leading chess nation.
