Significance

Within Hindi cinema, Samrat is associated with the comedy ensemble space, particularly through the Fukrey films, which helped establish a recognisable set-up of Delhi-based slacker characters in mainstream Bollywood comedy of the 2010s. His career trajectory from Hindi television to films also reflects a common pathway taken by performers of his generation.
