Priyamani Raj (née Iyer; born 4 June 1984), known mononymously as Priyamani, is an Indian actress who appears predominantly in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi language films. Across more than two decades in cinema, she has received a National Film Award, three Filmfare Awards South, and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award.

Career

Beginnings

Priyamani made her acting debut with the 2003 Telugu film Evare Atagaadu. In the years that followed, she expanded her work into Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema.

Breakthrough and recognition

Her performance as a rape victim in the Tamil romantic drama Paruthiveeran (2007) won wide critical praise. The role brought her the National Film Award for Best Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil.

She subsequently won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Malayalam for Thirakkatha (2008) and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada for Chaarulatha (2012).

Later work

Among her notable later films are Raam (2009), Puthiya Mukham (2009), Raavanan (2010), Pranchiyettan & the Saint (2010), and Idolle Ramayana (2016). In Hindi cinema she appeared in Jawan (2023) and Article 370 (2024). She also featured in the Malayalam film Officer on Duty (2025).
