Academics

The university is organised into faculties and schools that typically cover:

  • Engineering and Technology, including computer science, electronics, civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines
  • Architecture and Planning
  • Design, including interior, fashion and communication design
  • Management and Commerce

Programmes are offered at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels, with research activity coordinated through departmental research centres.

The university operates from a campus on the outskirts of Jaipur, with academic blocks, laboratories, design and architecture studios, a central library, hostels, and sports facilities. Jaipur, where the campus is situated, is a major educational hub in northern India and is well connected by road, rail and air.

Significance

Poornima University is among the private universities established in Rajasthan during the expansion of higher education in the state in the 2010s. It contributes to the regional supply of trained engineers, architects, designers and management professionals, and participates in industry collaborations, internships and placement activities common to private technical universities in India.
